Plextor stellt zwei neue DVD-ReWriter-Laufwerke vor: Mit dem PX-608U kommt der erste portable DVD-Brenner des Herstellers auf den Markt. Daneben wird es das neue interne High-End-Laufwerk PX-755A geben.
Der PX-608U erweitert nicht nur Plextors Produktlinie interner und externer DVD-Brenner, sondern ergänzt auch das neueste Sortiment portabler Festplattenlaufwerke.
Der leistungsstarke PX-608U ist mit einer Dicke von 22,2 mm nicht nur kompakt, sondern ermöglicht auch das Beschreiben von Double-Layer DVD+/-, ist Multiformat-DVD-RAM-fähig und wird mittels USB 2.0 angeschlossen.
Der PX-755A dagegen brennt eine Single-Layer-Disc in etwa 6 Minuten (DL in ca. 14 Minuten). Plextor hat den Premium PX-755A entwickelt, um den Anforderungen des High-End-Marktes gerecht zu werden. Der PX-755A ist auf Enthusiasten und professionelle Nutzer ausgerichtet und weist folgende Merkmale auf:

- GigaRec, VariRec und PowerRec

Der Plextor PX-608U und der PX-755A werden ab Dezember 2005 erhältlich sein. Die voraussichtlichen Endverbraucherpreise sind derzeit noch nicht bekannt.
