Nachdem erst gestern Details zur Fab 28 in Israel bekannt wurden, gibt Intel heute die Planung einer weiteren Fabrik bekannt. Die so genannte Fab 32 soll in Arizona errichtet und ab der zweiten Jahreshälfte 2007 in Betrieb genommen werden. Das etwa 3 Milliarden Dollar schwere Projekt soll die Fertigung von 45 nm Chips auf 300 mm Wafern als Ziel vor Augen haben. Durch diese sechste 300 mm Manufaktur Intels, werden, abgesehen vom Bau und der Einrichtung der Anlage (etwa 3.000 Beschäftigte), etwa 1.000 neue Arbeitsplätze entstehen.
