Zur Zeit ist AMD dabei, seine Produktion fast vollständig auf den Sockel 939 zu konzentrieren. Allerdings sind bereits seit geraumer Zeit Gerüchte über die nächste Sockelgeneration bei AMD im Busch. So spricht man von einem Sockel M2 von welchem nun erstmals ein Bild aufgetaucht ist. Jener soll Platz für 940 Pins bieten, allerdings mit aktuellen AMD Sockel 940 Prozessoren inkompatibel sein. Mit dem Sockel M2 werden Athlon 64 Single- und Dual-Core CPUs unterstützt werden, welche unter anderem (Athlon 64 Revision F) dann wohl auch Dual-Channel DDR2-Support bieten. Die neue Generation wird für das Jahr 2006 erwartet.

Bisher alles Spekulationen und Gerüchte - abwarten heißt es hier -
schon wieder neue sockel - ist ja bescheuert...

denk mal das bis der Sockel M2 wirklich auf dem Markt is, und es passende Motherboards etc geben wird, dauert es noch bis 2007, 2. quartal oder so....najo, mal schaun^^
wegen RAM: gibts schon benches von ddr3, bzw is der überhaupt schon fertig entwickelt?
weil wenn der genauso wenig leistungszuwachs wie ddr2 bringt, dann bleib ich lieber bei ddr1^^ -

ich denk mal dass der ddr3 auf dem gddr3 speicher basiert, dann wäre er nämlich ziemlich schnell gut verfügbar + die performance wäre net schlecht
