Während Intel immer mehr L2 Cache einsetzt, geht AMD einen Schritt zurück. Bin gespannt wessen Rechnung da eher aufgeht... -
ja toll... bedeutet das jetzt das man die Prozzis nicht mehr kaufen kann oder was. Oder anders gesagt bekommt man dann nur noch die versionen mit 512 kb speicher

Die Versionen werden nicht mehr weiter produziert und werden sozusagen nach und nach vom Markt verschwinden. Noch erhältliche werden dann nur noch Lagerabverkäufe sein!

Der Performancegewinn durch 1024 KB statt 512 KB war ja auch eher marginal, sodaß dies nicht sonderlich schmerzt.AMD kann dadurch billiger produzieren, was angesichts der bevorstehenden Preiskampfes nicht unwichtig scheint. Im Fazit profitiert der Endkunde durch niedrigere Preise.

@1 Die Intel Prozessoren pofitieren von mehr L2 Cache weil sie so konstruiert sind! Die AMD Prozessoren haben deutlich mehr L1 Cache als die Intel Prozzis, dadurch sind die CPUs nicht so abhängig von der L2 Cache größe!

Wieviel % mehr Die-Fläche hat wohl ein 1mb A64 im Gegensatz zum 512 kb-Die?!?

Gerade der x2 4000+ hat mich interessiert... und natürlich ein Dual-Sockel-Board!! -
ich glaube amd hat es aber auch zusätzlich gestunken, das sich viele die kleineren x2 geholt hatten und dann auf fx niveau übertaktet haben und somit es keinen anreiz mehr gab den fx zu kaufen. aber ansonsten schließ ich mich gast 4 an, amd macht sich kampfbereit

Dann sollen die aber noch einen 5000+ für Sockel 939 rausbringen. Würde gerne nächstes Jahr mit einem starken X2 günstig aufrüsten.
